The flowers stay on the plant for about three weeks or so and many new flower spikes develop during it's flowering time, giving an opportunity to really enjoy this beautiful and special creation.

Odm. nobile have pristine white large blooms and this variety of Full Moon x Tiffany displaying larger ( 8.5cm) and more colorful flowers.
It's another beautiful orchid that easy to cultivate for experienced orchid grower as well as beginner and will reward year after year with it's special, majestic scented blooms.
Congratulations for this beautiful orchid and thanks for the precious information about it.
ReplyDeleteYou have a very nice blog :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy reading it.
Wow, another beauty! How many orchids do you have? Do they all bloom at the same time? Sorry, I am a total ignoramus :). This white speckled blooms are gorgeous, I wish there were roses like that :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely orchid. The burgundy dots really add some interest. I can smell the jasmine aroma...
ReplyDeleteI really like this one. Never could find one for sale around here though, plus I am sure it would be costly. I have to take your word that it is easy to cultivate.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for letting me introduce to you this scented beautiful orchid, at the moment it's quite a showstopper in the greenhouse, the scent is strong and heady and it's easy to bring it to flower - total winner!
ReplyDeleteMasha - I've stopped counting many moons ago, sometimes I get an orchid or a seedling on a "promise" and wait until it reveals itself, sometimes it works, sometimes it's not, but over the years there've been many purchases and exchanges and divisions and seedlings and while I keep notes, I've stopped counting numbers long time ago. I try to grow different varieties that bloom at different times of the year - this way I can surround myself with orchids all year around.
There is a rose of very similar coloring as this orchid, it's from Delbard's Grand Parfum's Collection and it's called "Mitsouko" - it's been created to honor Geurlain and smells like violets and raspberries. There is a pale soft pink edging with pale pink spots when the blooms open - the most delightful feminine rose!
Thank you all for your kind comments
I wish I had room for plants this large - this is wonderful and too represents all the reason why the Odontoglossums were favorites almost as soon as orchids came on the horticultural scene especially in the 1800's.
ReplyDeleteOh my! This one is just drop-dead gorgeous! Such a stunning flower. I've just received some new little orchids ... and it's all your fault. Other than that one lone orchid (the one you identified for me) I've never attempted to take care of them before, so fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteFor me that's a unique orchid. Thank you for exposing us to a wider range of selections. I only have three kinds of orchids in my garden.

I am amazed you have too many to count. I was wondering how many you has also. There is a never ending posting of gorgeous and different orchids. Not to mention the most heathy, full specimens too.
ReplyDeleteI think i love it more than the Catleyas! The dots make it more special and elegant.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a fabulous experience to tour your garden with all the orchids. This one is really cute with the dots, but i think I would love it most for its fragrance!
