The flowers have a bit of oriental feel to them, displaying interesting color of bronze/ yellow and a touch of green with wide white/red middle and the whole effect of the blooms have very pleasing to the eye combination. It also have very nice light scent that is difficult to describe, it smells of "freshness" - crisp, clean and bright.
Some time ago I purchased couple of seedlings of this orchid hopping to see unusual flower and this season it's flowering first time. The plant is still small and as it matures I expect to see more of these interesting and special blooms.
'Dream Therapy' is just so gorgeous. Love the colours and the name! What a spectacular display it will make as it matures and is in full bloom.
ReplyDeleteHi Klara! I haven't seen many orchids and other plants with bronze flowers! They look a bit funny with all the freckls! Lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt is pure beauty this flower! I simply adore it, can you tell us more how you take care of it?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers. Your cyms collection is incredible. I wish I had space to grow them too - they are just too big for my "indoor orchid garden"...
ReplyDeleteFantastic that one looks a little like a dog
ReplyDeleteIt really is a beauty..
ReplyDeleteWhat an unusual color and pattern to the blossom! You always have the most gorgeous orchids!!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much to all of you for your kind comments and for letting me to introduce to you "Dream Therapy". Stripes and spots and specks and marks and feathers on the petals of cymbidiums is all the rage now and this one have very nice two-tone color and light scent as well. The plant is still on the smallish size and at this stage I don't know how how big and full it will grow in the future, but one can see great potential for this cross.
ReplyDeleteIn our climate cymbidiums are easy to grow, mine are in the shade in summer and full sun in winter. Plenty of watering during growing time and not much when dormant. Here they flower at the end of winter/ beginning of spring and the flowers stay on the plants for about 3 weeks or so, giving a long blooming season allowing time to really appreciate these beautiful orchids.
It surely is a dream! The colors and patterns are amazing.
ReplyDeleteEven I have always considered Rose be "the queen of flowers", I must admit that this orchid made me look at it for minutes! Really beautiful it is!
